UP Bypoll 2024: NDA vs I.N.D.I.A In Uttar Pradesh, Is It A Tough Fight Between CM Yogi & Akhilesh Yadav?
BJP suffered a huge setback in Uttar Pradesh in the Lok Sabha elections 2024. In comparison to the last election, their seats were reduced to half in this election. In such a situation, both the parties will put their efforts in the by-election. After the results of Lok Sabha elections, political parties have now started preparations for the by-elections. By-elections are to be held on 10 assembly seats of Uttar Pradesh, because 9 seats have become vacant after some MLAs of India Alliance and NDA became MPs. Apart from this, the MLA has been disqualified from one seat. Like the Lok Sabha elections, there is a possibility of a tough fight between the ruling party and the opposition in the by-elections. UP's ruling party BJP will be under pressure to regain its hold, while the I.N.D.I.A alliance will want to repeat its Lok Sabha election victory in the by-elections. Among the 10 seats in Uttar Pradesh where by-elections are to be held, Karhal, Meerapur, Khair, Phulpur, Majhwa, Kundarki, Ghaziabad, Katehari, Milkipur and Sisamau seats are there. Although, the dates of by-elections have not been announced by the Election Commission, but SP and Congress have made it clear that they will contest the UP Assembly by-elections together.
