Uddhav Thackeray's Shiv Sena UBT Releases Second Candidate List for Maharashtra Elections 2024
The Shiv Sena faction led by Uddhav Thackeray has released a second list of 15 candidates for the Maharashtra Assembly elections 2024. This list includes Anil Gote from Dhule City and Raju Tadvi from Chopda (Aj). Additionally, candidates such as Jayshree Sunil Mahajan from Jalgaon City, Jayshree Shelke from Buldhana, Pawan Shyamlal Jaiswal from Digras, Rupali Rajesh Patil from Hingoli, and Asaram Borade from Partur are also set to contest. Other candidates announced by Thackeray's faction include Yogesh Gholap from Devlali (Aj), Sachin Basare from Kalyan West, Dhananjay Bodare from Kalyan East, Shraddha Shridhar Jadhav from Wadala, Ajay Chaudhary from Shivdi, Manoj Jamsutkar from Byculla, Anuradha Rajendra Nagawade from Shirgaon, and Sandesh Bhaskar Parkar from Kankavli. The Shiv Sena (UBT) had previously announced a first candidate list featuring 65 names, bringing the total to 80 candidates now confirmed for the elections. The Mahavikas Aghadi alliance is still working with a formula of 85+85+85 for the remaining seats, indicating that Uddhav Thackeray may soon announce candidates for five additional seats. When are the Maharashtra Assembly elections 2024? Voting for Maharashtra's 288 assembly seats will take place in a single phase on November 20, with results to be announced on November 23. Currently, the ruling coalition comprises the Mahayut Alliance (including the BJP, Eknath Shinde's Shiv Sena, and Ajit Pawar's NCP). This time, the Mahavikas Aghadi (comprising Congress, Shiv Sena Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray, and Sharad Pawar's NCP) is also aiming to regain control of the government. It will be interesting to see which alliance the public chooses to lead the state this time.
