Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge has called the new Union budget deceptive and unjust during a protest. “This is a deceptive budget, and this is injustice,” said Kharge. The INDIA bloc leaders staged a protest over the new Union budget in the Parliament premises on July 24. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman presented her record seventh consecutive Union Budget 2024-25 on July 23, making major announcements for Bihar and Andhra Pradesh, including a boost in infrastructure and special financial support. The Budget, based on nine themes—agriculture, employment, inclusive development, manufacturing and services, urban development, energy, infrastructure, innovation, R&D, and nexgen reforms—drew sharp criticism from opposition leaders who called it biased.
