Hindu nationalist organizations assert that the Taj Mahal was originally a temple dedicated to Lord Shiva and refer to it as Tejo Mahalaya. These groups have been actively involved in various activities at the Taj Mahal. Claims have been made about attempts to offer Gangajal (holy water of the Ganges) at the site, and efforts to place Kanwad (a ceremonial item) have also been reported. Recently, a video has gone viral showing a saffron flag being hoisted at the Taj Mahal. Following the viral video, the Akhil Bharat Hindu Mahasabha has claimed that the woman seen in the video is an officer of their organization, and they continue to identify the Taj Mahal as Tejo Mahalaya. Just two days ago, two individuals reportedly poured water inside the Taj Mahal, and these individuals were also identified as officials of the Akhil Bharat Hindu Mahasabha.
