SC directs UP Police in Vikas Dubey case: Such encounters should not happen again
On the death of the policemen in Kanpur and the encounters of the accused including Vikas Dubey, the Supreme Court said that the UP government should take care that such encounters do not happen again. The apex court also approved the UP government's draft constitution of a three-member committee to investigate these deaths. The state government has constituted a committee under the chairmanship of Dr. Balbir Singh Chauhan, a former judge of the apex court.
