The situation in the war-torn country remains serious as Russia continues its assault on Ukraine. Over three lakh people have taken refuge in shelters in Mariupol, while the capital Kyiv and key cities such as Lviv and Chernihiv continue to be bombarded on a regular basis. Officials in Mariupol claim that 50 to 100 bombs are dropped every day and that 80 percent of residential buildings have been damaged, with a third of them beyond repair.
