Punjab: Parole to 6000 prisoners to decongest prisons, says Jail Minister
Punjab Jail Minister, Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa said, 'To decongest prisons in wake of Coronavirus pandemic, Punjab is giving parole to 6000 prisoners from jails across the state, these are prisoners who were sentenced to less than 7 years in prison'. As per the reports, if the situation worsens despite 21-days-lockdown, the time of the parole will be increased.
