Punjab Elections 2022: BJP-led alliance announces seat-sharing formula
According to BJP leader JP Nadda, who announced the seat-sharing arrangement between his party and its allies for the February 20 state elections, the BJP will contest 65 assembly seats, the Punjab Lok Congress 37, and the SAD (Sanyukt) 17 seats in Punjab. "Today Punjab needs special attention, it requires a double engine government and improved coordination between the Centre and the state," he added, hailing Punjab as a "leader" in the country's defence and food security.
