Pegasus row: Congress MP Mallikarjun Kharge attacks BJP ahead of Budget session 2022
Congress MP Mallikarjun Kharge made scathing remarks on BJP after claims made by the New York Times. The New York Times reported that the Indian government had purchased the Israeli NSO group's Pegasus software in order to conduct targeted surveillance on citizens in July 2017, claiming that high-level visits by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and former Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, as well as a United Nations vote on a Palestinian organisation, were all part of a larger backroom deal.
