NHRC sends notice to Bihar, Gujarat on plight of migrants

The National Human Rights Commission issued a notice on Thursday to the chief secretaries of Gujarat and Bihar, chairman, Railway Board, and Union Home Secretary seeking a report on the plight of migrants. The notice also demanded an explanation over the late arrival of special Shramik trains.
NHRC took suo moto cognizance of the deaths of train passengers in special Shramik trains and hence took action
