NEET UG 2024: Supreme Court Hearing on NEET 2024 Today, Will Re-Test Be Conducted? | ABP News
The Supreme Court is scheduled to hear petitions challenging alleged paper leaks and irregularities in the NEET-UG 2024 examination on July 11. The government has filed an affidavit opposing a re-test, citing a report from IIT Madras that denies claims of widespread malpractices or cheating at specific examination centers. The report, attached to the Centre's affidavit, asserts that there is no evidence of mass malpractice or localized groups benefiting from abnormal scores. Earlier, on July 8, the bench led by Chief Justice DY Chandrachud sought responses from the Union and the National Testing Agency (NTA) regarding the extent of the paper leak and measures to differentiate between fraudulent and genuine candidates. The Court indicated that a re-test might be necessary if the exam's integrity has been compromised to the extent that distinguishing between honest and dishonest candidates becomes impossible. However, it emphasized that such a decision would be a last resort, considering its significant impact on nearly 24 lakh students.
