Due to continuous rains in July, many states in the country are grappling with floods. Heavy rains from north to south are causing significant problems for people.
The Meteorological Department has issued warnings for very heavy rains in nine states: Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Goa, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, and Uttarakhand. Additionally, heavy rain warnings have been issued for ten states: Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Manipur, Nagaland, Mizoram, Tripura, Punjab, and Haryana.
Rivers in Bihar are swollen from heavy rains, leading to floods in many districts. Several districts in Purvanchal, Uttar Pradesh, and Bihar have also been affected by flooding due to water releases from Nepal. In Madhya Pradesh, many rivers are in spate due to floods. Landslides caused by rain are impacting Uttarakhand, where many roads are closed. In Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka, river water levels have risen due to rains, causing flooding in several areas.
