Lok Sabha: Akhilesh Yadav's MP Demands Removal Of Sengol In Letter To Speaker | ABP News
Former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav's Samajwadi Party Lok Sabha MP, RK Chaudhary, has questioned the installation of Sengol in Parliament and demanded its removal. In a letter to Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, he argued that Sengol is a symbol of monarchy and should be replaced by the Constitution.
"I took oath as a member before you in this august House that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the Constitution of India as by law established, but was surprised to see Sengol on the right side of the chair of the House," Chaudhary stated.
SP leader RK Chaudhary emphasized that the Constitution is the sacred book of Indian democracy, while Sengol is a symbol of monarchy. He reiterated that Parliament is a temple of democracy, not a palace of a king or royalty.
