Kerala: Massive Landslide In Wayanad Leaves 8 Dead, 400 Families Stranded | ABP News
Hundreds are feared trapped in a landslide in Kerala's Wayanad district following heavy rains. The incident occurred in Meppady, Mundakkai, and Chural Mala in the early hours of Tuesday. Local reports state that 12 people have died, though the district administration has confirmed four deaths, including a child.
Fifty people have been hospitalized after the landslide. The first landslide struck Mundakkai at around 1 am during heavy rains. While rescue operations were ongoing, another landslide occurred near a school in Chural Mala at around 4 am. The school was used as a camp, and nearby houses and shops were inundated with water and mud. Rescue efforts are currently underway.
