Kashmiri Artisans Weave Massive Handwoven Carpet, Claimed To Be Asia's Largest | ABP News
A group of artisans in Wail Kralpora village near Gulmarg have weaved a carpet believed to be Asia's largest handcrafted carpet. The 72 feet by 40 feet handwoven carpet can cover an area of 2,880 square feet. It took a group of more than 20 artisans to work over nine years to make this carpet. "This carpet is the biggest carpet to date. Maybe in Iran they might have made woollen carpets smaller than this but here it is the largest carpet. This carpet covers an area of 2,880 square feet and has more than 37 crores of knots in total, around 37.5 crore knots in the entire carpet.
