Kashmir Rail: Tunnel T33 And T34 Between Katra And Reasi Rail Route Completed After Major Challenges | ABP News
The Kashmir Rail Tunnel, also known as the Pir Panjal Rail Tunnel, is located between Banihal and Qazigund, at an elevation of approximately 1,790 meters above sea level, making its construction a challenging task. The tunnels T33 and T34, part of the route from Katra to Reasi, presented significant difficulties during construction. Sandeep Gupta, CEO of USBRL, mentioned that the T33 tunnel, which stretches over 3.2 kilometers, took the most time to complete. A total of 145 kilometers of tunneling has been done in the Katra section. The train route will extend from Jammu to Katra, Katra to Reasi, Reasi to Sangaldam, and Sangaldam to Baramulla.
