J&K: Bodies of 3 missing jawans recovered after avalanche hits Tangdhar

The bodies of three Army soldiers were found on Wednesday, who went missing in an avalanche that hit their post in the Tangdhar area of Kupwara district. The search operation was launched soon after the avalanche hit the army post. Besides the three, the other jawans who were struck in the avalanche, have been rescued by the security forces, sources said.

A number of Army personnel have been killed in avalanches in recent weeks. It was the second avalanche in Siachen in two weeks, where four Indian Army personnel and two civilian porters had been killed in one on November 18, in the northern part of the glacier.
