J&K Terror Attack: 5 Soldiers Killed, 6 Injured in Terrorist Ambush on Army Convoy in Kathua

The recent terrorist attack on an army convoy in the Machedi area of Jammu and Kashmir's Kathua district has resulted in the tragic loss of five army personnel and injuries to six others. The attack occurred on the Machedi-Kindli-Malhar road near Badnota village in Lohai Malhar at around 3:30 pm. Terrorists ambushed the convoy, hurling a grenade and opening fire on the army vehicles during a routine patrol. Security forces retaliated, but the terrorists managed to flee into the nearby forest. An intermittent exchange of fire continued between the terrorists and security forces, with reinforcements being rushed to the area. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh expressed his deep anguish and condolences to the families of the deceased soldiers. He assured that counter-terrorist operations are ongoing and that efforts are being made to restore peace and order in the region. Singh also wished for a speedy recovery for the injured personnel. This tragic incident highlights the persistent challenges faced by security forces in maintaining peace and security in the region, and underscores the ongoing threat posed by terrorist activities.
