Various states have now started changing or amending different aspects of labour laws in their states, in order to provide a favourable business environment and revive the economy. However, when Yogi Adityanath government proposed it, Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi criticised the decision stating that labourers are not hostages of government. The move has led many to ask, is a change in labour law necessary to revive the economy?
