India invites application for Indian citizenship from non-Muslim refugees of Afghanistan, Pakistan & Bangladesh

Narendra Modi government at the Center has invited applications for Indian citizenship from non-Muslim refugees from Afghanistan, Bangladesh and Pakistan. Also, applications for citizenship have been sought from non-Muslims like Hindus, Sikhs, Jains and Buddhists living in 13 districts of Gujarat, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Haryana and Punjab. According to the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), Bangladesh, Pakistan and Afghanistan will be granted citizenship to non-Muslims who are victims of repression, who had come to India by 31 December 2014.
