Indian Army Organizes Tour For School Students In Kargil Ahead Of 25th 'Kargil Vijay Diwas'

As part of its build up to celebrate the 25th 'Kargil Vijay Diwas' on July 26th, the Indian army organized a motivational tour for school students from Batalik at the Kargil War memorial in Dras on Friday. The tour was aimed to educate and inspire students about the bravery and sacrifices made by the Indian troops during the 1999 Kargil War. "Ten of our students are going on a motivational tour by the Indian Army. These visits should be frequent and if possible they should be taken outside Leh as it gives them (children) good exposure. Indian Army cooperates a lot with schools, Indian Army always provides us all facilities and options to participate in these programs." says Teacher. During the tour, among other activities, the students sang patriotic songs in memory of the fallen soldiers.'Kargil Vijay Diwas', or 'Kargil Victory Day', is observed annually on July 26th to mark India's triumph in the 1999 conflict with Pakistan.
