Independence Day 2024: JP Nadda Pays Tribute to Freedom Fighters, Watch His Speech | ABP News

India is celebrating its 78th Independence Day on Thursday, August 15, 2024. Prime Minister Narendra Modi hoisted the national flag from the Red Fort and addressed the nation. This was his 11th consecutive address on Independence Day and his first since returning to power for a third term. In his speech, Modi emphasized the need to eliminate corruption and nepotism, and he stressed the importance of a developed India. Modi announced that in the coming five years, there will be an increase in the number of medical college seats and reforms under the new education policy to reduce the need for students to study abroad. He also highlighted India's progress towards self-reliance in the defense sector, the focus on skill development, and growth in the space sector. Despite the pandemic, India's economy has been growing rapidly.
