Imran Khan govt confers highest civilian award to Syed Ali Shah Gilani
Pakistan has given its highest civilian honor to former Hurriyat leader Syed Ali Shah Gilani on its Independence Day . Gilani was awarded the Nishan-e-Pakistan on Friday 14 August. Separatist leader Gilani is famous for his anti-India statements in Kashmir, for which Pakistan is honoring him.
When Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan announced about this, he said that Gilani is being honored by doing so. Gilani resigned from Hurriyat shortly before.
