On Monday, Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi said a municipal court in Varanasi's order to block a pond after a 'Shivling' was allegedly discovered in the complex was a breach of the Places of Worship (Special Provisions) Act,1991. Owaisi, who is also the head of the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM), also questioned how a lower court can issue an order simply on the basis of a petitioner's claim while the commissioner it appointed has yet to submit his survey report.
