Haryana: MLA Kiran Choudhary Along With Daughter Resign From Congress, Set to Join BJP
Senior Congress leader Kiran Chaudhary joins BJP ahead of assembly elections in Haryana. Kiran Chaudhary, along with her daughter Shruti Chaudhary, joined BJP in the presence of Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini and former Union Minister Manohar Lal Khattar at the party headquarters in New Delhi. This move deals a major setback to Congress in Haryana. Notably, assembly polls are scheduled for October in Haryana.
Kiran Choudhry had expressed dissatisfaction with the Congress after her daughter was denied a Lok Sabha ticket for the Bhiwani Mahendragarh seat. The Congress opted instead for MLA Rao Dan Singh, who subsequently lost the election. Singh later accused Choudhry of sabotage, to which she responded by criticizing the ticket allocation process, suggesting it contributed to the party's defeat.
