Haryana Candidate List: Congress releases fourth list of 5 candidates for polls | ABP News
On Thursday, the Congress party announced its fourth list of candidates for the Haryana Assembly elections, bringing the total number of declared candidates to 86. The new list includes Parimal Pari from Ambala Cantt, Sachin Kundu from Panipat Rural, Satbir Dublain from Narwana (SC), Sarva Mitra Kamboj from Rania, and Rohit Nagar from Tigaon. This announcement followed the release of the party’s third list, which included 40 candidates and featured the son of party MP Randeep Surjewala, Aditya Surjewala, running from Kaithal. Four seats remain unannounced by the Congress, leading to speculation about a possible last-minute alliance for those seats. The Congress had previously been in talks with the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) for a seat-sharing agreement, but negotiations stalled, and the AAP has since issued several candidate lists. Some Congress members have voiced concerns about partnering with the AAP led by Arvind Kejriwal. The deadline for filing nominations is Friday. The Congress has also named 32 candidates for the polls, including former chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda from Garhi Sampla-Kiloi, state unit chief Udai Bhan from Hodal, and wrestler Vinesh Phogat from Julana. Previously, the party released a list of 31 candidates and later added Balbir Singh for Israna (reserved for Scheduled Castes). Additionally, nine candidates were announced on Sunday, including all 28 sitting MLAs. The party has also fielded Mewa Singh from Ladwa to challenge Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini. The Haryana Assembly elections are scheduled for October 5, with vote counting set for October 8.
