Gyanvapi Masjid Row: Survey report may get delayed amid Shivling row | ABP News
Following the completion of a court-ordered videography survey of the Gyanvapi Masjid complex on Monday, Varanasi witnessed a high-voltage drama as the Hindu side's counsel claimed that a Shivling was discovered close to the "wuzukhana" – a small reservoir used by Muslim devotees to perform ablutions before offering the namaz. The Hindu petitioner in the case, Sohan Lal Arya, claimed that the committee discovered a Shivling in the compound, and the Varanasi district court issued an order to seal the area. A member of the mosque's management committee fiercely denied the story, claiming that the object was part of the "wuzukhana's" water fountain mechanism.
