Gyanvapi Masjid Row: Political uproar intensifies after alleged Shivling found | ABP News
The first lawsuit was filed in 1991 at Varanasi district court for the restoration of an ancient temple on the site of the Gyanvapi mosque. Following the petition of Delhi residents Rakhi Singh, Laxmi Devi, Sita Sahu, and others, Civil Judge (Senior Division) Ravi Kumar Diwakar ordered a video survey of the mosque on April 18, 2021. The Muslim side has cited Section 4 of the Places of Worship (Special Provisions) Act, 1991, which prohibits any judicial process for the conversion of any place of worship's religious character, as it existed on August 15, 1947.
