Delhi Water Crises: Delhi Govt To Give Money To Himachal Pradesh For Water | ABP News

During the hearing on the wastage of water, the Supreme Court expressed displeasure with the lawyers representing both Delhi and the Himachal government. The court noted that the Himachal government had assured the court during the last hearing that it had surplus water and was ready to supply it to Haryana, so that Haryana could send that water to Delhi through the Hathnikund Barrage. The court recalled that based on this assurance, it had directed Himachal to provide 137 cusecs of water to Haryana in the previous order. However, it is now being reported that the Himachal government is not supplying the additional water to Haryana. The court expressed its displeasure over this and questioned why action should not be taken against the officials of the Himachal government for contempt of court. During the hearing, the Delhi government's counsel informed the court that under the rules, Delhi should receive 1,013 cusecs of water, but it is currently receiving only 800 to 900 cusecs from Haryana. The Supreme Court will continue hearing this case on Thursday.
