Delhi reality check: No police, unlit roads put women at high risk
Even seven years after the Nirbhaya gang rape and recent Hyderbad rape case, lack of safety for women in the national capital continues to be a huge question-mark in Delhi. There are several dark and desolate stretches in the capital, especially near Delhi University, which can be considered too dangerous for women to venture out, especially in the evening. When the ABP News team went on the ground to get a reality check of the situation, they found less or no street lights in these dark zones and realised there was a lack of police patrolling in the desolate stretches of the capital. So can we say the authorities have failed in keeping women safe even 7 years after Delhi gang rape?
