Delhi News: Why Do the Streets of Delhi Feel Threatening? Do Women Feel Safe?

We’ve all heard about "boys’ locker room talk," especially after it gained infamy through a few chats some years ago. But even more notorious than that are the streets of Delhi. When these two elements combine, it creates a dangerous situation, particularly when a rejected lover becomes vengeful, putting someone’s privacy, personal information, and sometimes even their life, at risk.

ABP Live spoke with several women in Delhi who shared their experiences of feeling uncomfortable in their own skin, constantly worried about being judged—even while wearing something as casual as a loose t-shirt. The discomfort from the male gaze was palpable. Ironically, as we conducted these interviews, onlookers stopped to stare at the very women we were speaking to. While we’ve blurred some of their images for privacy, the memories of what they or their friends have endured remain crystal clear. Watch the full video here.
