Coronavirus cases in India: EC likely to make decision on ban on election rallies amid rising cases
Due to an increase in COVID-19 cases across the country, the Election Commission of India will decide on Saturday whether to extend the ban on election rallies, roadshows, and corner meetings in the five poll-bound states beyond January 15. According to ABP sources, the decision will be based on information about the spread of Coronavirus and its Omicron version. On January 8, the commission prohibited all large political meetings and imposed restrictions in Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Goa, Punjab, and Manipur for a week.
