Congress Files Complaint Against PM Modi and Amit Shah with Election Commission | ABP News

The issue of verbal attacks and counterattacks during election campaigns has now reached the Election Commission. The Congress party has filed a formal complaint with the Election Commission against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah, accusing them of violating the Model Code of Conduct. The Congress claims that both leaders have made inflammatory speeches that not only misrepresented facts but also engaged in spreading falsehoods and negative propaganda against the party. In their complaint, Congress has pointed out specific instances where Modi and Shah allegedly made statements that were misleading and defamatory towards the Congress, with the intention of maligning the party's image. The party accuses them of using their positions of power to influence voters unfairly by making baseless allegations. According to Congress, these speeches crossed the line set by the Model Code of Conduct, which mandates that all political parties and their leaders maintain decorum and refrain from making statements that could harm the election process or mislead the public. The complaint, which was officially submitted to the Election Commission, calls for an investigation into the matter and for appropriate action to be taken against the leaders if they are found guilty of violating the code. The Congress has demanded that strict measures be implemented to ensure a fair and free electoral process, free from misleading and divisive rhetoric.
