Ram Rahim will spend this period at the Barnawa Ashram in Uttar Pradesh’s Bagpat district, where extensive preparations, including increased security, have been made. The release coincides with the lead-up to the Haryana Assembly elections in 2024, adding political significance to his furlough. Ram Rahim, who is serving a life sentence for rape and murder, has previously been granted parole six times.
