Assembly Elections 2024: Haryana Election Date Likely To Be Announced Today | ABP News

The Central Election Commission is expected to announce the date for the Haryana Assembly elections 2024 on Friday, August 16. If the announcement is made, the model code of conduct will come into effect in the state. The current Haryana Assembly's term ends on November 3, with the last elections held in 2019. The majority figure in the 90-member assembly is 46. In the 2019 elections, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) emerged as the single largest party and formed a coalition government with 10 MLAs from the Jannayak Janata Party. The assembly elections are due in Maharashtra and Haryana, with the terms of their legislative assemblies set to end on November 26 and November 3, respectively. Additionally, the ECI is likely to announce the schedule for conducting assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) before September 30, a deadline imposed by the Supreme Court.
