Another Shocking Sexual Assault Case in Kolkata, Minor Raped and Threatened in Krishnaganj

Just as the horrific case of the rape and murder of a trainee doctor at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital in Kolkata was still fresh, another disturbing sexual assault incident has emerged in the city. According to reports, a minor was raped and threatened in Bhajanghat, Krishnaganj, Nadia. The incident occurred on Saturday evening, August 31, 2024. The minor was reportedly returning home after shopping when a neighbor forcibly dragged her into a garden and assaulted her. After the rape, the perpetrator threatened to kill her if she reported the incident. The victim informed her family upon returning home, and they have filed a police complaint.
