A couple from Madhya Pradesh's Guna consumed pesticide to stage protest against the anti-encroachment drive. The extreme reaction surfaced due to police officials' heartlessness during an anti-encroachment drive.

Allegedly, the couple was using a university's land to grow crops. Rahul Gandhi attacked the Shivraj Singh Chouhan government over it. Replying to the attack, Jyotiraditya Scindia said that the Shivraj government took immediate action against the officials involved.
