Ahead of Uttar Pradesh Elections 2022, after the announcement of elections date, there has been a political disruption in UP. Swami Prasad Maurya resigned from UP's BJP government. After the resignation, Maurya met with SP leader Akhilesh and accepted his party membership. After his move, 3 more MLA's have distanced themselves from the party.
