Jaitley opts out of new Modi cabinet citing health reasons
Arun Jaitley, who was the finance Minister in previous Modi cabinet, has opted out of holding any portfolio in new government which will be sworn in on Thursday. In a letter addressed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Jaitley made a formal request to not be given any responsibility in the new government, citing health issues.
He thanked PM Modi for the responsibilities assigned to him in the previous government, and also while in the Opposition.
