If Your PAN-Aadhaar Is Linked, No Need To Pay TDS-TCS | Paisa Live
Is Your PAN-Aadhaar Linked? If Not, You May Still Avoid Excessive TDS/TCS Payments. The Finance Ministry has addressed taxpayers' concerns by issuing a circular on August 5, 2024. This circular, released by the CBDT, provides relief regarding the provisions of TDS (Tax Deducted at Source) and TCS (Tax Collected at Source) under the Income Tax Act of 1961. It specifically concerns cases where an individual has passed away before linking their PAN and Aadhaar. The new guidelines ensure that even if the linkage is pending, the tax deducted or collected will not be excessively penalized. This measure aims to ease the burden on taxpayers and their families during such sensitive times.
