177 girls rescued after 6 hours as heavy rains lash MP

Incessant rainfall for the past three days has affected the life of people across the state. Most of the rivers are flowing above the danger mark, and low lying areas including a girls' school from where 177 students were rescued have been flooded by the surging waters.

In Ashapur in Khandua district, 177 students of a government residential school for tribal girls, had a narrow escape on Monday when the school premises got flooded. The residential school is located near the Agri river which was overflowing after heavy rain.
