West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee announced that Chief Secretary Alapan Bandyopadhyay retired today. He will remain the Chief Advisor to the Chief Minister for the next three years. The Home Ministry had directed him to report to the Department of Personnel and Training by 10 am. But the Bengal government did not relieve him.
