It's Raining Money In UP: Groom's Family Showers Rs 20 Lakh Cash On Couple, Video Goes Viral

Many users were surprised by the act and said the money should have been distributed among the poor.

A groom's family members took the wedding celebrations to the next level in a village in Uttar Pradesh as they stood on their home's terrace and showered cash on the bride and the groom. A video from the wedding has gone viral on social media. It is said that around Rs 20 lakh cash in Rs 100 and Rs 500 denominations was blown away.

The video from Siddharthnagar district of Uttar Pradesh was shared by a page on Instagram with a caption, "About twenty lakh rupees were looted on the wedding procession in Siddharthnagar district of UP. A video of climbing on the roof and blowing away a bundle of notes goes viral. The boy's family blew away notes of hundred, two hundred and five hundred rupees in the air like paper. The viral video is being told of the wedding of Afzal and Arman, residents of Devalhawa village."

Internet Furious Over The Video

Surprised by the act, many users said the money should have been distributed among the poor. "Bhai kisi Garib beti ki shadi kr dete itne paise me kisi 4 Garib beti ki shadi ho jati thi," a user replied on the video. Another person suggested that the family should be sent to jail.

"With this much money, four poor girls could have been married," another person remarked. One user joked to dial the Income Tax Department.
