'Every Opinion Matters': PVR Reduces Snack Prices After Tweet Showing Expensive Popcorn Bill Goes Viral

Immediately after the tweet went viral, the PVR Cinemas responded by saying "We at PVR believe that every opinion matters and it must be respected. We have this update for you and for every moviegoer in India."

The experience of watching a movie at a theatre has changed a lot these days. The single screen cinema halls have almost vanished and been replaced by multiplexes that provide a luxurious experience. But one of the biggest complaint that most of us have is the expensive pricing of snacks like popcorn, nachos and soda inside the theatre.

Recently, a man took to Twitter to share his frustration over the exorbitant costs of popcorn and soda inside a renowned cinema chain. The man actually spent Rs 820 on just two items.

"Rs 460 for 55gm of cheese popcorn, Rs 360 for 600ml of Pepsi. Total Rs 820 at @_PVRCinemas Noida. That’s almost equal to annual subscription of @PrimeVideoIN. No wonder people don’t go to cinemas anymore. Movie watching with family has just become unaffordable," read the tweet.

Immediately after the tweet went viral, the PVR Cinemas responded by saying "We at PVR believe that every opinion matters and it must be respected. We have this update for you and for every moviegoer in India."

The cinema chain introduced special weekday offer for cinegoers. One can now buy snacks like burgers, sandwiches and samosas for Rs 99 on weekdays (9:00am to 6:00pm).

It also comes up with bottomless popcorn and Pepsi offer on weekends. Though pricing for bottomless popcorn and Pepsi was not revealed by PVR Cinemas.
