Prince William Takes Customer Booking At Indian Restaurant In Birmingham. WATCH

After checking the location with the owners of the restaurant, William spoke to the caller about when the table would be free

Prince William of Britain helped out an Indian restaurant in Birmingham by taking a phone reservation from an unsuspecting customer on Thursday. Williams and wife Kate were on a trip to Birmingham in central England when the heir to the British throne visited the family-run restaurant Indian Streatery and took the call from someone seeking a booking for two people, Reuters reported.

After checking the location with the owners of the restaurant, William spoke to the caller about when the table would be free and if it would suit their timing.

"What name is it under?" the prince said as he concluded the conversation, without revealing his own name to the caller. "See you at quarter past two."

Prince William's office later said on Twitter: "Hope we told this customer to come to the right place...!"

While taking the call, one can see Kate standing beside Prince William who is surrounded by the restaurant staff.

The video of the conversation posted on YouTube by ANI has garnered 24k views and tons of comments.

"I loved his gesture—no need to be serious all the time. Life is too short, and a sense of humor is quite essential," wrote one user after seeing the video.

"For this humility they are adorable. Our elite powerful people should learn this easy going British Royals how to influence people and be grounded in your society, wrote another user.

"Seems like a down to earth n approachable person.!," wrote a third.

Other than taking the booking, the royals also helped the kitchen staff of the restaurant in preparing few dishes before continuing their visit in the city. They also had some fun with a game of darts at an underground bar in the city.
