Pakistan's Biggest Thrift Store Looted On Inauguration Day, Vandalism Caught On Camera — WATCH

The store offered low prices on clothing, home essentials, and accessories. The chaos ensued when more than a thousand people showed up at the mall, and the management was unable to manage the crowd.

A massive crowd broke into a building of the grand opening of Pakistan’s biggest thrift store in Karachi, where people vandalised and looted the shop.

Several videos of the incident surfaced on the internet showing the crowd forcefully entering the premises.

As per Pakistani local news reports, the mall, Dream Bazar, was the country's first large-scale thrift store offering low prices on clothing, home essentials, and accessories.

However, chaos ensued when more than a thousand people turned up at the mall, and within an hour, the crowd went out of hand. Several eyewitnesses reported extensive damage and vandalism to the property as thousands of people rushed into the mall.

From the viral videos, it could be seen that a group of people broke into the store in the blink of an eye and looted the shop. Another video shows the aftermath of the looted shop where leftover clothes are thrown randomly.

 

People's Response To Videos Over Social Media

This video has garnered multiple reactions since it has been uploaded on social media. one of the users said, "The country which has predominantly been ruled by military has zero discipline in the civic way of life. What an irony !"

The next user said, "A businessman of Pakistani origin living abroad opened a huge mall in Karachi named Dream Bazaar. And today on the day of inauguration A crowd of about one lakh Paki goths stormed the mall and looted the entire mall, not a single item was left behind."

"What else can you expect from a country where lawlessness is the norm? A place where even a generous gesture turns into chaos. This incident speaks volumes about the state of affairs in Pakistan, " the third user stated.

The fourth user stated, "The businessman was foolish enough to open a shopping mall amidst the naked people. What can you expect from beggars?"
