'Spec-tacular Story': Monkey Runs Away With Mathura DM’s Glasses, Video Goes Viral

The latest incident took place when Mathura DM had come to inquire about the stampede incident that happened on Janmashtami at Banke Bihar temple.

New Delhi: In a video going viral on social media, a monkey is running away with Mathura District Magistrate Navneet Singh Chahal’s spectacles in Uttar Pradesh's Mathura while he was on the phone. The latest incident took place when Mathura DM had come to inquire about the stampede incident that happened on Janmashtami at Banke Bihar temple. After a lot of effort, glasses of DM could be taken back from the monkey. 

Meanwhile, former chief minister and leader of opposition Akhilesh Yadav took a dig on social media by saying, “Bandar ne socha jab BJP ke shashan mein, prashashan ko chashma laga kar bhi kuch nahi dikhta hai to chasme ka kya kaam” (the monkey took the glasses because he thought there was no use of glasses for the administration when it is unable to see the ill deeds of the BJP regime).

Monkey menace is not a new issue in Mathura and Vrindavan as not only the common person but the officers are also troubled by monkeys in UP. People's lives have become difficult due to the menace of monkeys. Every day, monkeys attack people and sometimes they run away after picking up their belongings. 

“The monkey menace is such that residents of Vrindavan are forced to put up iron nets at their houses to safeguard themselves from the aggressive animals. People have died because of monkey attacks, but there seems to be no solution in place,” Dr. Laxmi Gautam, convenor of the ‘Kanakdhara Foundation’, an NGO in Vrindavan said as quoted by Hindustan Times.
