Man Loses AirPods In Kerala, X Unites To Get Them Back For Him From Goa

A man lost his AirPods in Kerala and found out that someone carried them to Goa. Twitter aka X came to the man's rescue and helped him in finding the lost item.

A man lost his AirPods in Kerala and found someone using them in Goa. He reached out to netizens to help him retrieve the lost item and once again social media proved that it can indeed be a friend in need. Nikhil wrote about the incident on social media, and X did its magic. What unfolded was an interesting operation with meticulous planning that landed on the precise location of the item.

After losing the AirPods Nikhil traced them in South Goa and sought help from netizens if anybody lived in that locality so that they could retrieve them for him. Nikil tweeted, "I recently lost my new airpods in Kerala and this person is travelling with it. The person has been in South Goa right now for 2 days, so I’m guessing they live there. does anyone here live around Dr Alvaro De Loyola Furtado Road, Salcete, South Goa? retweet for reach, etc."

He wondered what a story it would be to tell the kids around if X could help him get his AirPods back.

The tweet posted on December 21 went viral and amassed over 1,200 retweets and 7,200 likes.

In the same thread, Nikhil later said that he meant no harm to the person who took the AirPods and hoped their privacy would be respected.

A man named Edwin Mascarenhas helped Nikhil in his quest to get the AirPods back. Mascarenhas replied to Nikhil's tweet and said that his relatives lived exactly there and he has sent them the details. He added that his relatives mentioned that their neighbours went to Kerala recently.

Mascarenhas said that his relatives contacted the neighbours and said they would drop it off at Goa's Margao Police Station.

A person who was about to visit Goa then got in touch with Nikhil and is expected to retrieve the AirPods from the police.

A user jokingly said, "I am from Goa and live closeby and speak Konkani. Please DM me the exact location and I will see what I can do. Dress up as Santa, enter the house and ask for airpods."

When someone in the comments said that Nikhil could have contacted authorities about it and how he expects that the person who found it would connect with him, the AirPods owner said that he was at a place where it could have been returned to the counter or reception or the authority, however, it got stolen in under 2 minutes.

Another user while commenting on this said, "I think Apple should allow owners to record a message and somehow transmit it to lost AirPods. Anytime a person uses AirPods it should only play that recording."
