Libyan Man Misses Hajj Flight Over Security Issue, Refuses To Leave Airport. Then This Happened

What began as an ordinary journey for Amer Al Mahdi Mansour Al Gaddafi to perform Hajj turned into a setback after he was held back at the immigration during the security check.

A Libyan man's journey to the Saudi city of Mecca to perform the annual pilgrimage of Hajj, filled with persistence and spiritual commitment, is being widely shared on social media.

What began as an ordinary journey for Amer Al Mahdi Mansour Al Gaddafi to perform Hajj turned into a setback after he was held back at the immigration during the security check.

Amer's surname — Al Gaddafi — was flagged in the security system at the airport, following which he was held at the counter.

"We will try to solve it for you, but you have to wait with us a little while," he was told at the airport.

While his group boarded the flight, he was still held at the airport counter. After the security issue was resolved, the pilot refused to open the door for him and decided to depart without him, Gulf News reported.

Though, the security officers tried to console him, Amer refused to leave the airport saying, "I intend to perform Hajj, and God willing, I will go."

Soon after the takeoff, the flight developed a technical malfunction and was forced to turn back. The plane underwent minor repairs, however, the pilot refused to open the door.

After taking off for the second time, the plane took off again only to encounter a second issue, forcing the plane to land again.

According to passengers and crew, it was after the second landing that the captain said, "I swear I won’t fly again unless Amer is with us on this plane."

The authorities, meanwhile, cleared the way for Amer's travel and he boarded the flight on the third attempt.

Speaking of the incident, Amer said, "I only wanted to go to Hajj. And I believed that if it was written for me, no force could prevent it."

A photo of Amer is going viral on social media where he is seen posing with the crew of the plane.
