A video showing two youths allegedly from the Garhwa district of Jharkhand kneading the flour for Golgappa with their feet went viral on social media. It has been also claimed that Harpic and urea fertilizer were also mixed in the dough.
The viral video posted on the social media platform X displays two men kneading the flour for Golgappa using their bare feet. It is also seen that prepared Golgappa raped in plastics are kept beside the men who are kneading.
According to a report by Hindustan, the people of the market located at the Nagar Panchayat headquarters got angry and surrounded the two shopkeepers who were making Golgappa in an unhygienic manner. They also alerted the police, who arrived at the scene and detained both individuals.
Shopkeepers Admit To Adding Urea, Harpic
During police interrogation, the accused shopkeepers admitted to adding urea and Harpic (toilet cleaner) to the Golgappas to improve the taste. One of the shopkeepers, Arvind Yadav, who makes Golgappas, mentioned that a few days ago he had a fight with his cousins Anshu and Raghavendra over shopkeeping. After the altercation, they made a video of both the shopkeepers kneading flour with their feet.
The police have closed the shop of the accused. Police station in-charge Akash Kumar reported that both shopkeepers are from Uttar Pradesh. One of them, 35-year-old Arvind Yadav, hails from Soma village in Jhansi district, while the other, 30-year-old Satish Kumar Srivastava, is from Noorpur village in Jalaun district.
